Skateboarding seems a lot of fun for a young kid but make sure to wear safety gear.
A good skateboard has smooth bearings and good grip. Everything not depends on the skateboard but also its accessories, if you want to do tricks of course you’ll need good grip so you have to bring some quality shoes that provide strong grip.

Kryptonics Mini Cutaway Cruiser Skateboard
This skateboard is totally recommended. It is a 26 inch skateboard. It is thick, durable with laminated wood cambered deck. It has steal bearings. It has classic shape and a powerful grip tape that provides good control. It has a smooth ride and suitable for kids.
The sandpaper-like upper surface provides a strong grip but you should also consider wearing good shoes for your skateboard to create friction. The wheels of this skateboard are so friction-less so that with a slight push you are good to go.
- Solid build quality.
- Wheels roll smoothly.
- Sandpaper-like top surface that offers good grip.
- Trucks are a little bit loose.
Magneto SUV Skateboards
This skateboard is also one of the best ones. It is a natural wooden skateboard that offers stable ride. It might be a little costly than the other skateboards. This one has deck width of 8.5 inches. This skateboard is suitable for almost any environment like parks and streets.
It feels so smooth while riding this skateboard on street because of its wheel quality. You can even do tricks on this skateboard due to its amazing build quality. Beside that you cannot rely on the grip tape because it might peel off when you ride it multiple times.
- Offers very smooth ride on streets.
- Suitable to ride on almost any surface including streets and parks.
- Wheel quality is satisfactory.
- Grip tape is not reliable.
- A little bit expensive as compared to others.
Complete Standard Skateboard Mini Cruiser
This skateboard would also be a nice choice for an 8 year old kid. Its bearings and wheels are of high quality. It is slightly bowl shaped so it offers more control. Its build quality is solid. The thickness of the wheels offer more stability.
The only thing I noticed about this board is that its thickness is less as compared to other skateboards but I don’t think it really matters because it offered a very smooth ride.
- Good bearings.
- Strong build quality.
- This is so stable.
- Value for money.
- Not suitable for advanced tricks.
This skateboard comes with really smooth bearings. It has shark design on the bottom that is attractive for kids. It has really nice deck quality and it also has alloy trucks. It offers safe and smooth ride. The wheels also light up as skate on it.
It is also lightweight (around 1.5Kg). You can easily carry this in your backpack. This is way cheaper than other skateboards and it is definitely a good choice if you want budgeted item with higher quality.
- Higher quality in affordable price.
- Lightweight and easy to carry.
- The wheels light up when you skate.
- The name on the top is not acceptable by some people.
This is also good value for money skateboard. It has lava design on the top and bottom that feels so attractive. Doing tricks might be hard because of the grip tape so you have to wear good shoes in order to make the grip hard. Overall if you are looking for a good skateboard in a lower budget then you can go ahead with this one.
The bearings feel a bit hard so you have to push hard on the ground to start skating. The wheels are also not so good but in a lower price this would be a good choice.
- Cheaper in price.
- Attractive design.
- Good for kids.
- Bearings not that smooth.
- Not a good grip.
All the pros and cons of the skateboards listed above are my point-of-views, you can do deep research on your own to get the perfect one according to your needs.
I would suggest you to buy a skateboard that is not so costly and not so cheap to get a perfect one for your kid. Again, it is all up to you.
